"Coach V is an outstanding teacher. The other coaches at Kaizen Karate are also great. They teach more than just karate. They add important life lessons to their classes. At one class, I overheard Coach V tell the kids that before you become good at something, you're not so good at it, before that, you're bad at it and before that, you have to try it. Then the whole class tried a new kick. This is an important life lesson. Coach V and the other teachers are patient and calm. Their enthusiasm for martial arts and teaching really shines through. Classes always have a positive atmosphere and are orderly, not chaotic. My kids have improved their coordination, strength, self-esteem and self-defense skills as well as their karate. They take pride in their accomplishments. They enjoyed summer camp last year and will be returning again this summer. The Kaizen Karate adult karate class is fantastic; I love it. It's a great workout and has improved my confidence and self-defense skills. My whole family is a fan of Kaizen Karate."

History

The History of Kaizen Karate

Kaizen Karate was founded by Viran Ranasinghe (Coach V) in 2003.  Coach V was a student of Master Instructor Phillip Hill of Hill's Hitters karate for 20yrs since the age of 5yrs old.  With only 8 students in his first class, Coach V focused on growing the karate school and then soon branched out and started studying other martial arts including Wing Chun, Kenpo, Judo, and Aikido all of which have strongly influenced the current curriculum at Kaizen Karate.

Coach V's mission for Kaizen Karate is as follows:

At Kaizen Karate our mission is to teach the highest quality of martial arts in the spirit of continuous improvement.

Today, Kaizen Karate boasts an extremely talented team of instructors with backgrounds in karate as well as the following martial arts:

-Aikido
-Boxing
-Goju Karate
-Hapkido
-IKCA Kenpo
-Kung Fu
-Shotokan
-Tae Kwon Do
-Wing Chun

With this diverse background of instructors Kaizen Karate truly offers a high level of martial arts instruction.  Students are able to become well-rounded martial artists given the vast amount of knowledge shared between the Kaizen Karate staff and offer perspective that is not common at most other schools.
